History
Blessed Oliver Plunkett opened its doors on 3 October 1966 to serve the developing Mounttown/Fitzgerald Park area, originally operating as separate boys’ and girls’ schools. Following the canonisation of Oliver Plunkett in 1975 the school was renamed St Oliver Plunkett National School, at its peak accommodating close to 900 pupils across both sites. In 1984, declining numbers led to the amalgamation of the two schools into a single co‑educational institution, and the name was changed to Holy Family National School to reflect its affiliation with the parish of The Holy Family, Kill O’ The Grange.
