Kilcoe National School is a small, three‑teacher, co‑educational primary school situated in the rural townland of Kilcoe, West Cork, on the N71 between Skibbereen and Ballydehob. Founded in 1897 and fully renovated in 2008, the school offers modern resources and facilities within a picturesque community setting. It operates under a Catholic ethos while recognising other religions, and places a strong emphasis on creating a happy, secure and inclusive atmosphere where every child’s unique abilities are nurtured. The school’s educational approach is child‑centred, promoting intellectual, spiritual, physical, moral and cultural development. It has been awarded the Digital School of Distinction, reflecting best practice in the integration of ICT across teaching and learning. History
Kilcoe National School was founded in 1897. The school underwent a complete renovation in 2008, updating its facilities to meet contemporary educational standards while retaining its historic roots in the West Cork community.
