About
Kilconly National School is a small, rural primary school situated on the Wild Atlantic Way in North Kerry. It describes itself as a “community of learners” that prioritises a safe, supportive environment where pupils can thrive academically, socially, emotionally and physically. The school follows the Irish National Curriculum while also developing a creative, locally‑relevant programme that incorporates the geography and history of the surrounding area, encouraging children to become active, engaged citizens who contribute positively to their community and the wider world. The school’s facilities are designed to foster exploration and creativity. Classrooms are equipped with modern technology such as interactive panels, iPads, laptops and visualisers. A well‑stocked library provides a range of reading material, and the outdoor provision includes a spacious playground, football pitch, basketball court, organic garden, native woodland, and a poly‑tunnel for horticultural projects. A broad suite of extracurricular initiatives – from Green School and Farm Safe to music, dance, science partnerships and sports coaching – further enriches the pupil experience and supports holistic development.
