About
St. Patrick’s Central National School, Kilmaine, is a co‑educational Catholic primary school serving approximately 125 pupils. The school provides a nurturing, inclusive environment where academic, spiritual, moral and cultural development are balanced. Its curriculum is designed to be well‑ordered, stimulating and broadly challenging, promoting excellence in teaching and learning while fostering each child’s self‑esteem and individuality. The school operates with a team of eight teachers, including dedicated staff for mainstream classes, a specialist autism spectrum disorder (ASD) class and two special educational needs (SET) teachers. Facilities have been progressively enhanced: the original school building opened in 1987, an Astro Play Area was added in 2023 and further grounds were acquired in 2024 to expand outdoor play space. An on‑site Scribbles Playgroup offers full‑day care, early childhood education, after‑school care and a breakfast club, supporting families throughout the day.
