About
Kilmainhamwood National School is a co‑educational, Catholic primary school under the patronage of the Bishop of Kilmore. The school’s ethos is encapsulated in its motto *Mol an Óige agus Tiocfaidh sí*, reflecting a commitment to fostering confidence, self‑esteem and a love of learning in every pupil. Working in partnership with parents, the parish and the wider community, the school aims to provide a caring, well‑ordered environment that meets the intellectual, spiritual, physical, moral and cultural needs of its children while respecting all faiths. The campus is set in a picturesque village location beside the River Dee and offers extensive outdoor facilities. Two large tarmacked areas, a grass field, tennis and basketball courts, and a handball wall give ample space for sport and play, while a newly built garden with a mud kitchen, insect hotels and a balance beam serves as an outdoor classroom. Inside, five spacious, colour‑rich classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards, and a dedicated sensory room provides a calm space for self‑regulation. A sizeable hall accommodates PE on wet days and whole‑school assemblies, and a well‑stocked library, reading corners and a resource room with STEM supplies and thirty iPads support a modern, ICT‑enhanced curriculum.
