About
Libermann Spiritan School, Templeogue (LSST) is a co‑educational special school dedicated to the education of autistic pupils with complex learning needs, catering for children from four to eighteen years of age. The school operates under the Spiritan ethos – “Believe, Belong, Become” – and provides a safe, caring and inclusive learning environment where each child’s individual abilities are nurtured. Teaching is organised into primary and post‑primary classes, with groupings based on age, peer compatibility and specific needs, ensuring personalised support and a focus on progress and achievement for every learner. The campus is situated on Templeville Road, adjoining Templeogue College, and benefits from shared outdoor spaces and a purpose‑built facility that is being developed for the school’s long‑term use. LSST’s holistic approach is reinforced by a comprehensive framework of policies, including a Code of Relationships, Respect and Behaviour, an anti‑bullying policy, child safeguarding statements and data‑protection guidelines, all designed to promote wellbeing, safety and high standards of education for its students.
History
Libermann Spiritan School opened its doors on 4 September 2023 on grounds adjoining Templeogue College, following a planning phase that began nearly four years earlier. The school’s official launch was marked on 4 December 2023 by the Tánaiste, Micheál Martin TD, who inaugurated the site with a tree‑planting ceremony. Since its inception, LSST has expanded to accommodate a growing cohort of pupils, with plans for a permanent, purpose‑built structure to be constructed on the same site in the coming years.
