About
Limerick Community Special School is the sole Community Special School within the Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board (ETB). As a multi‑denominational post‑primary institution, it provides specialised education for learners with additional needs, delivering a broad and balanced curriculum that meets the statutory requirements of the Irish education system. The school benefits from the ETB’s extensive resources, including access to a wide range of student support services, pastoral care structures and dedicated support‑team frameworks designed to promote the academic, social and emotional development of each pupil. The learning environment is purpose‑built to be fully accessible and inclusive, with facilities that accommodate a variety of therapeutic and educational interventions. In line with the ETB’s commitment to holistic development, the school offers an extensive programme of extra‑ and co‑curricular activities, enabling students to explore interests in sport, arts, music and community engagement. These opportunities are intended to foster confidence, independence and a sense of belonging, preparing learners for further education, training and active participation in the wider community.
