Lucan Community National School is a state‑funded, co‑educational, multi‑denominational primary school operating under the patronage of the Dublin and Dún Laoghaire Education and Training Board. The school provides a full infant‑to‑sixth‑class curriculum and includes two dedicated Autism classes within its Community Special Education (CSE) provision, reflecting a strong commitment to inclusive education. Facilities are housed in a purpose‑built permanent building on Balgaddy Road, opened in 2017, and are equipped to support contemporary learning, including a 1:1 iPad programme for pupils from second to sixth class managed by Wriggle.ie to ensure robust child‑safeguarding and digital literacy. History
Lucan Community National School opened its doors in September 2013 with fewer than ten pupils. In 2017 the school moved into a new permanent building off Balgaddy Road, Lucan, Co. Dublin. Since its inception the school has expanded significantly, reaching an enrolment of almost 400 pupils by the 2025/26 school year and adding specialised Autism classes within its CSE provision.
