About
Millstreet Community School provides a warm, caring environment that prioritises the holistic growth of each pupil. The school’s ethos centres on student‑centred learning, encouraging individuals to flourish academically, creatively and socially. A broad, versatile curriculum spans the Junior and Senior Cycles, including a strong emphasis on science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM). All four Leaving Cert sciences—chemistry, biology, physics and agricultural science—are offered, supported by fully equipped laboratories that enable extensive practical work and contribute to high uptake of science subjects. Beyond the classroom, the school boasts a wide range of extra‑curricular activities, from competitive sports such as hurling, football and camogie to creative programmes like art, music and the BT Young Scientist competition. Recent investment has secured a major upgrade to the sports hall, enhancing facilities for physical education and community events. Pastoral care, a full‑time chaplain and a dedicated student council further reinforce a supportive atmosphere where wellbeing, respect and collaboration are integral to daily life.
