About
Mount Temple Comprehensive School is a co‑educational secondary school situated on Malahide Road, Clontarf, Dublin. Rooted in diverse Protestant traditions, the school embraces a spirit of inclusiveness, welcoming pupils from minority religious backgrounds and those with no religious affiliation. Its educational philosophy is grounded in the principles of comprehensive education, believing that a varied learning community enriches every student. The ethos stresses equality – “All of us are different, all of us are equal” – and promotes a safe, respectful environment where tolerance, courtesy and cooperation are expected. The curriculum spans the Junior Cycle, Transition Year and Senior Cycle, offering both the traditional Leaving Certificate and the Leaving Certificate Applied programme, as well as the Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme (LCVP). A strong emphasis is placed on cultural, sporting and artistic development, with provision for drama, music, debate, badminton and other extracurricular activities. Facilities are designed to support this broad programme, providing modern classrooms, specialised spaces for arts and sports, and resources for additional educational supports. The school also aspires to be a prototype for sustainable development education, preparing students to become responsible, articulate and creative citizens.
