About
Nagle Rice Primary School is a mixed Catholic primary school situated in the heart of County Kildare, serving a vibrant community of roughly 360‑372 pupils. The school’s ethos is rooted in Catholic values and the motto *Níl bua gan dua* (“No victory without effort”), guiding a holistic approach that nurtures the academic, spiritual, emotional, social, moral, physical and cultural development of each child. A supportive, inclusive environment celebrates diversity, with families from over twenty different countries contributing to a rich multicultural atmosphere. The campus boasts modern, purpose‑built facilities, including a spacious, fully equipped building, a state‑of‑the‑art sports hall and an innovative Sensory Garden designed to enhance learning through play and exploration. Small class sizes and a dedicated team of mainstream, special‑needs and EAL teachers enable personalised instruction, while a range of extracurricular activities and cultural events further enrich the pupil experience.
History
Until 2006 Milltown was home to two separate Presentation primary schools – Scoil Maria Assumpta (girls) and Scoil Mhuire (boys). In that year the two schools amalgamated to form the present Nagle Rice Primary School, a name that honours the founding orders of the original schools: Edmund Rice of the Presentation Brothers and Nano Nagle of the Presentation Sisters. The school continues to uphold the founders’ vision of providing education for all children, especially the poor and marginalised.
