Recent developments include the introduction of new T4 subjects and dedicated ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) classes, reflecting the college’s commitment to meeting contemporary educational needs. Facilities have evolved from the original North Presentation site to a modern green‑field campus opened in 1969, with a major extension added in 1986. The college’s ethos, rooted in the Presentation tradition and the CEIST network, is encapsulated in its motto “Deeds Not Words”, guiding a culture of service, respect and continuous improvement.
History
Nano Nagle College originated as North Presentation Secondary School, founded by the Presentation Sisters who trace their heritage to Nano Nagle (born 1718 in Ballygriffin, Co. Cork). After Nano Nagle established her first school in Cove Street in 1754, a North Presentation Primary School opened on Gerald Griffin Street in 1813, later adding a “Secondary Top” that grew into a full secondary school. A new green‑field campus in Farranree was opened on 21 November 1969, with an official opening in 1970, and an extension was added in 1986. In 2023 the institution was renamed Nano Nagle College, becoming a co‑educational school offering new T4 subjects and ASD classes, while continuing to follow the values and vision of its founder.
