About
Navan Educate Together National School is a state‑funded primary school that embraces the inclusive, equality‑based ethos of the Educate Together organisation. The school provides a nurturing environment where every child is encouraged to reach their full potential through a holistic curriculum that balances academic learning with moral, spiritual, cultural and environmental education. Central to its approach is the Learn Together Ethical Education Curriculum, which develops children’s understanding of moral decision‑making, human rights, belief systems and environmental stewardship, while fostering respect, responsibility and imagination. Since moving into a purpose‑built campus in April 2015, the school offers modern classrooms, dedicated childcare facilities, a breakfast and after‑school club, and specialised spaces for technology and STEM activities. The campus supports a vibrant community life with democratic governance that invites active parental participation, and a range of extra‑curricular programmes such as sports, green‑school initiatives and a thriving blog that showcases student projects and school events.
History
Navan Educate Together National School opened in 2002 in the Order of Malta hall on Academy Street, initially housing two classes of 30 pupils separated by a curtain. After a brief period at Rock Lodge on Flower Hill, the school moved in 2005 to the former SIPTU office on Dan Shaw Road, where it expanded to include childcare services, a preschool, day‑care, and a breakfast and after‑school club. In 2013 the school announced a final relocation, and in April 2015 it settled into its current purpose‑built premises, enabling continued growth and development.
