About

North Bay Educate Together National School is a co‑educational, multi‑denominational primary school situated in the heart of the Kilbarrack community, Dublin 5. The school follows the Educate Together ethos, offering an inclusive, democratic and child‑centred learning environment where every child is valued regardless of social, cultural or religious background. Teaching is based on the national curriculum but delivered through a holistic approach that encourages creativity, critical thinking and a love of learning. The school places a strong emphasis on wellbeing, environmental stewardship and scientific inquiry, having earned the Green Flag, Active Flag and Discovery Science Award for its whole‑school initiatives. Beyond the classroom, the school fosters a sense of social responsibility through regular fundraising for charities such as homelessness services, refugee support, Barnardo’s and international projects. These activities, together with a supportive community atmosphere, aim to develop confident, caring and active members of a diverse society.

History

North Bay Educate Together National School opened its doors in September 1990 with just 26 pupils and a single teaching principal, Maureen Costello, in response to a local demand for a multi‑denominational school. Over the years the school has expanded significantly and now educates over 200 children, supported by a team of around 14 teachers and several special needs assistants.
