About
Owenabue Educate Together National School opened its doors in September 2020 in Carrigaline, County Cork. Initially housed in a single classroom within the Carrigaline Lions Club, the school is now situated at Rosemount, Herons Wood and is expected to expand to a 16‑classroom institution over the coming years. It currently provides education from Junior Infants through to 4th class, offering a modern, inclusive environment for young learners. The school follows the Educate Together ethos, operating as a mainstream national school that is equality‑based and democratically run. It places a strong emphasis on inclusion, diversity and the development of strong relationships as the foundation for learning. Pupils are encouraged to reach their full potential across academic, social and creative domains, with a curriculum that respects children of all social, cultural and religious backgrounds. In 2021 the school received a grant under the Irish National Recovery and Resilience Plan, enabling the purchase of digital devices to bridge the digital divide and support learners at risk of educational disadvantage. This investment reflects the school’s commitment to providing equitable access to technology and fostering a supportive, forward‑looking learning community.
