Piltown National School is a co‑educational primary school situated in the village of Piltown, County Kilkenny, close to the River Suir and the N24 corridor. The school works in partnership with parents and the local community to deliver a balanced, progressive curriculum that follows the revised Department of Education and Science programme. Emphasis is placed on Christian values, discipline and caring, fostering each child’s full potential in a supportive environment. The ethos highlights a strong connection to the local area, incorporating studies of local history, placenames, flora and fauna, and organised visits to nearby sites such as Kildalton College and local forestry. A broad range of extra‑curricular activities is offered, including traditional Irish sports (hurling, camogie, Gaelic football), soccer, swimming, chess, athletics and orienteering, alongside a comprehensive road‑safety and personal‑safety programme. Recent EU‑funded investment has equipped the school with modern IT resources to bridge the digital divide for learners at risk of disadvantage.
