About

Presentation Primary School Georges Hill is a Catholic primary school situated in the heart of Dublin city on Halston Street, Dublin 7, directly opposite the Corporation Fruit and Vegetable Markets. The school provides a secure, welcoming environment where children are encouraged to develop a strong sense of belonging and pride. A balanced curriculum places equal emphasis on academic achievement, Irish culture and language, and the celebration of diverse cultures, ensuring that each pupil can reach their full potential in a supportive setting. The school’s educational approach is underpinned by an inclusive learning culture facilitated through the Relate system and a Positive Code of Behaviour. These tools enable staff to identify and address individual needs holistically, promoting diversity and fostering a community where every child feels valued. Small‑class teaching allows personalised progress, while strong links between home, school and the wider community reinforce collaborative learning and social development. Key features include a focus on inclusive practice, the integration of Irish cultural heritage, and a commitment to nurturing both academic and personal growth. The school’s charitable status and active engagement with families through various programmes further enhance its role as a vibrant centre for primary education in Dublin.

History

Presentation Primary School Georges Hill was founded by Teresa Mulally and soon came under the trusteeship of the Presentation Sisters, who oversaw the school until September 2008. At that time the trusteeship was transferred to the local parish, with the Capuchin Community now administering the school’s governance. Throughout its history the school has maintained its Catholic ethos while evolving to meet the educational needs of the Dublin community.
