History
The first Rathgormack school operated from 1846 to 1909, opening during the famine. A second school served the community from 1909 until 1973, featuring four classrooms, two halls and separate playgrounds. The current school building was erected in 1973, officially opened in January 1974, and now accommodates 124 pupils with modern facilities.
