Rathmichael National School is a co‑educational primary school serving children from Senior Infants through to Sixth Class. The school places a strong emphasis on inclusive learning, aiming to bridge the digital divide and support pupils who may be at risk of educational disadvantage. In 2021 the school secured a grant under the Irish National Recovery and Resilience Plan, funded by the European Union’s NextGenerationEU programme. This investment was directed towards the purchase of tablets and laptops, enabling the integration of technology across the curriculum and enhancing digital literacy for all learners. The school’s educational approach combines traditional Irish primary teaching methods with modern, technology‑enhanced activities. Classrooms are equipped with up‑to‑date ICT resources, and the school promotes a safe, supportive environment that encourages curiosity, creativity and community involvement. A range of extracurricular programmes, including arts, sports and cultural events, complement the academic curriculum, fostering well‑rounded development and a strong sense of belonging among pupils and families.
