About

Rochestown Educate Together National School is a co‑educational, inclusive primary school that embraces the Educate Together ethos of equality, respect and community partnership. The school’s learning philosophy centres on discovery‑based and active learning, encouraging pupils to engage with their surroundings both inside and outside the classroom. By fostering a supportive environment and close collaboration with parents, the school aims to nurture curiosity, critical thinking and a lifelong love of learning for every child. The school operates from a modern, purpose‑built campus opened in January 2023. The 24‑classroom building includes three specialist classrooms for children with autism, a well‑equipped sports hall, a library and extensive outdoor playing areas. These facilities support a broad curriculum that incorporates STEM, arts, physical education and ethical education, and the school also serves as a learning centre for the wider community, offering programmes and resources beyond the standard timetable. A distinctive feature of the school is its “An Leabhar Órga” reward system, which celebrates pupils who consistently embody the school motto “Ready, Respectful, Responsible”. This, together with a strong emphasis on community involvement and continuous professional development for staff, underpins the school’s commitment to excellence and innovation in primary education.
