About
Rosemont School is a Catholic‑ethos secondary school for girls that blends academic rigour with a holistic approach to personal development. The curriculum is built around independent thinking, with a strong emphasis on ownership of learning – each pupil reflects on her strategies in class, extracurricular activities and study, supported by a one‑to‑one coaching system. Academic excellence is evident in consistently outstanding Leaving Certificate results across humanities, sciences, mathematics, business and creative subjects, while the school’s purpose‑built campus provides modern laboratories, collaborative learning spaces and facilities for sport, music, art and theatre. The school’s ethos, inspired by the teachings of St Josemaria and Opus Dei, promotes personal virtue, intellectual curiosity and community service. A three‑way partnership between parents, teachers and students underpins the educational model, with regular parental engagement in coaching meetings. A wide range of leadership, sport, cultural and entrepreneurial opportunities – from student council and Gaisce awards to European Youth Parliament and community volunteering – ensures students develop emotionally, spiritually and physically as well‑rounded individuals ready for higher education and societal contribution.
History
Rosemont School was founded in 1977 by a group of forward‑thinking parents who sought to create a Catholic girls’ school where academic excellence and parental partnership were central. The founders established a lasting ethos based on the message of St Josemaria, aiming to empower generations of young women through a collaborative educational journey.
