Sacred Heart Senior National School, situated at the foot of the Dublin Mountains in Killinarden, Tallaght, provides primary education for roughly 270 boys and girls from third to sixth class. The school operates a distinctive classroom model where two teachers share two “base” rooms and a larger communal area that functions as a full‑size classroom, fostering collaborative learning and flexible teaching. Extensive outdoor facilities include a very large yard, a spacious sports hall, and a dedicated field, while indoor provisions feature a kitchen and a well‑equipped computer room, supporting both practical and digital curricula. The school places a strong emphasis on sport and technology. Popular activities encompass soccer, basketball, chess and Gaelic games, and the school regularly hosts clubs such as the Killinarden CLIC (Chess, Lego, Imagination Club) and participates in projects like the ARISS initiative. History
Sacred Heart Senior National School opened its doors in 1977. Initially a single school, it later divided into separate Junior and Senior schools. Since its foundation the school has grown to accommodate around 270 pupils and has continually expanded its facilities and programmes, maintaining a focus on community involvement, sports, and technological advancement.
