The school provides a nurturing environment for children aged 4‑12, with four classrooms staffed by a team of mainstream teachers, specialist educators and support assistants. The daily timetable runs from 8:50 am to 2:40 pm (infants to 1:40 pm), offering a balanced curriculum that includes Irish, English, Mathematics, Religion, Social, Emotional and Spiritual Education (SESE), Physical Education and Visual Arts. The school’s ethos places the individual child at the centre of learning, seeking to develop each pupil’s spiritual, moral, emotional, imaginative, aesthetic, social and physical dimensions. A strong sense of community underpins the school life, with active involvement from parents, guardians and the local parish. Facilities include a dedicated learning space beside Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, a reading tree in the hallway to encourage collective reading goals, and access to extracurricular activities such as tennis, shared PE days and active‑school events that promote fitness and teamwork. A commitment to high standards of safeguarding, digital learning and inclusive education is evident through a suite of policies covering ICT, SEN, child protection and health and safety. The school also celebrates academic achievement, exemplified by its Accelerated Reader programme where pupils collectively surpassed a million words read, fostering a love of reading across the whole school.
