About
Scoil Mhuire Heronstown N.S. is a small, co‑educational national school situated in the rural setting of Lobinstown, County Meath. With a teaching team of five, the school provides a close‑knit, pupil‑centred environment where children benefit from personalised support and a strong sense of community. The curriculum balances traditional academic subjects with innovative approaches, aiming to meet the intellectual, spiritual, physical, moral and cultural needs of each learner. A Catholic ethos underpins the school’s values, while an inclusive stance recognises pupils of all faiths and none, promoting respect, equality and multicultural awareness. The campus comprises the original two‑classroom main building, a purpose‑built classroom added in October 2019, extensive yard space, a tennis court and a football pitch, offering ample opportunities for outdoor learning and sport. The school has been recognised for its environmental commitment with three Green Flags (Litter and Waste, Energy and Water) and the Active School Flag, and it has earned accolades such as the Junior Entrepreneur award, the Blue Star flag and recognition as a School of Science and Maths. Strong home‑school partnership is encouraged through active parental involvement and a vibrant Parents’ Association, reinforcing the school’s aim that every child feels happy, confident and able to reach their full potential.
