About

St Colmcille’s Community School is a co‑educational second‑level institution situated on a purpose‑built campus on Scholarstown Road in Knocklyon, Dublin 16. Established in 2000 on a greenfield site, the school was created to retain local young people within the community and is overseen in partnership with the Carmelite trustees, whose spiritual guidance shapes the school’s ethos. The college offers a broad and balanced curriculum that caters for a wide range of academic abilities and interests, aiming to develop each pupil’s academic, physical, moral, cultural and spiritual potential. Students consistently achieve strong results in the State Examinations and progress onto a diverse array of third‑level courses and career paths. The school prides itself on being a progressive, modern learning environment equipped with well‑resourced facilities that support both traditional classroom teaching and contemporary initiatives such as the “Take One Week 2026” sustainability programme, which engages Junior Cycle pupils with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. A strong emphasis is placed on partnership with parents and the wider community, fostering a safe, caring atmosphere where pupils are encouraged to become confident, adaptable and responsible citizens. Extracurricular provision, including music, sports, meditation and digital clubs, further enriches the student experience.
