About
St John’s National School is a co‑educational primary school operating under the management of the Church of Ireland, with the Archbishop of Dublin as patron. Situated on Tower Road in the heart of Clondalkin Village, the school provides a welcoming environment for children from Junior Infants through to Sixth Class. The teaching team comprises four mainstream teachers, each responsible for two mixed‑age classes, supported by learning‑support and resource staff as well as special‑needs assistants. This structure enables small class sizes and personalised attention, fostering both academic progress and social development. The school’s ethos is rooted in community and faith, reflected in regular Friday assemblies held in the school hall or the local church, and special events such as a Christmas Carol Service and a School Leavers’ Service. An active Parent‑Teachers’ Association organises fund‑raising activities—including a sponsored walk, Green Day and an annual raffle—to supplement resources, subsidise school trips and provide treats for children on special days. Recent initiatives include the KiVa anti‑bullying programme and an annual Music and Arts Evening, underscoring a commitment to a safe, inclusive and culturally rich learning experience.
