About
Scoil Mhuire, Drumboylan is a small, rural Catholic primary school serving the parish of Ardcarne in north Roscommon. With two mainstream teachers and a shared learning‑support teacher, the school provides a close‑knit, nurturing environment where each child’s intellectual, spiritual, physical, moral and emotional needs are addressed. The curriculum is broad and balanced, integrating the national programme with a strong emphasis on Catholic faith formation, while also encouraging self‑esteem, responsibility and interpersonal skills. The school benefits from a purpose‑built activity room added in 2005, which supports a wide range of extra‑curricular programmes such as weekly GAA and basketball sessions, dance, computer and Spanish classes, tennis, and tin‑whistle lessons. Regular participation in Cumann na mBunscol games further enriches pupils’ sporting experience. Uniforms consist of navy‑blue V‑neck jumpers, navy skirts or trousers and white polo shirts. The school day runs from 09:20 am to 2:00 pm for infants and to 3:00 pm for older classes, with a private bus service covering Leitrim Village, Battlebridge, Keadue and surrounding areas, and additional after‑school care available.
