About
St Patrick’s National School, Stamullen, is a Catholic primary school operating under the patronage of the Bishop of Meath. The school’s ethos is rooted in Catholic education, emphasising a philosophy of life inspired by belief in God and the teachings of Jesus Christ. Daily prayer, the Grow‑In‑Love religious programme and a code of discipline that reflects Christian values underpin the spiritual life of the community, while pupils are supported in preparation for the sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist and Confirmation. The campus comprises two distinct buildings: the historic Scoil Bán, originally opened in 1954, and the modern “Rainbow School” opened in 2008. Together they provide 24 classrooms, allowing three classes per year group, and a range of specialist facilities. Digital learning is well‑supported with iPads, Book Creator and assistive technology, and a broad programme of after‑school activities, sport and extracurricular clubs enriches the pupil experience.
History
The first national school in Stamullen was situated beside the church in what are now the Parish Rooms. In 1954 a new three‑classroom building was opened on Cock Hill Road – the present Scoil Bán. An extension in the 1980s increased capacity to six classrooms. After a period of declining enrolments, the late 1990s building boom led to rapid growth, prompting the construction of a state‑of‑the‑art “Rainbow School”, which opened its doors in September 2008. Today the school operates a full campus split between the original Scoil Bán and the Rainbow School, offering 24 classrooms and three classes for each year group.
