About
St Patrick’s De La Salle Boys National School is a Catholic primary school for boys situated in Kilkenny and placed under the patronage of the Diocese of Ossory. Operating in line with the Department of Education and Skills curriculum, the school offers a child‑centred programme that nurtures academic achievement alongside spiritual, physical and moral development. A strong emphasis is placed on partnership with parents, creating an inclusive, caring and energetic environment where pupils are encouraged to engage willingly with learning and to develop the skills needed for an ever‑changing world. The school provides a broad range of extracurricular activities that complement its curriculum. Traditional Irish games such as hurling and football are introduced from an early age, while soccer, swimming, tag rugby, athletics and a choir also feature prominently. Facilities support these programmes, and the school’s ethos promotes preparation for the sacraments of First Penance, First Holy Communion and Confirmation, fostering a deep sense of Christianity and respect for others. Inclusive provision, including support for children with autism, reflects the school’s commitment to a happy, healthy and holistic education for every pupil.
