Scoil Rónáin is a Catholic primary school situated in An Trá Bháin, Leitir Móir, County Galway. The school’s ethos is centred on providing a disciplined yet nurturing environment where the intellectual, spiritual, corporal, moral and cultural needs of each child are recognised and met. Emphasis is placed on fostering a sense of respect for the school, the local community and its heritage, while actively promoting equality and preventing any form of discrimination on the basis of religion, colour, intelligence, gender, reason or background. The school aims to develop both the professional and personal capacities of its staff through ongoing training and service‑related courses, and it encourages strong parental involvement through regular communication, meetings and collaborative activities. Beyond the core curriculum, Scoil Rónáin offers a broad programme of extra‑curricular activities. Pupils take part in a weekly football club that competes in the local primary league and in the Gaeltacht football and hurling training scheme, as well as a “Club Mata” and English club for senior classes. The school’s choir, music and dance classes, as well as art, drama and history projects, enrich the cultural life of the pupils. Participation in science and mathematics awards, as well as history and drama festivals, further supports a well‑rounded education. Safety and punctuality are prioritised, with clear arrival and dismissal times and strict rules governing movement on and off the school grounds.
