About
Scoil Áine Naofa is a co‑educational senior primary school serving children in 3rd to 6th class. Under the patronage of the Catholic Archbishop of Dublin, the school welcomes pupils of all faiths and none, providing a safe, caring environment where each child can reach their full potential. The curriculum follows the Primary School Curriculum set by the Department of Education & Skills and is underpinned by a positive culture built on the principles of respect, honesty, kindness, diligence and happiness. With over 600 pupils, the school offers a broad range of learning experiences, from core academic subjects to a rich programme of extra‑curricular activities such as Gaelic football, camogie, basketball, choir and environmental initiatives. The school’s ethos emphasises both academic achievement and personal development. Small class sizes and a dedicated team of 36 teachers and eight Special Needs Assistants ensure that individual learning needs are met, while the emphasis on a nurturing, inclusive atmosphere encourages confidence and social growth. Facilities are designed to support a variety of activities, providing spaces for sport, music, and collaborative learning, reinforcing the school’s commitment to a well‑rounded education.
History
Scoil Áine Naofa was founded in 1980 to accommodate the growing population of St Patrick’s parish in Esker. Since its establishment, the school has expanded rapidly and now educates more than 600 children, maintaining its original mission of providing a Catholic‑based, inclusive education within the local community.
