About
Scoil an Chlochair, Kilbeggan is a mixed primary school serving children from Junior Infants through to 6th Class. The school provides a fully inclusive environment, with dedicated Butterfly and Caterpillar rooms that cater specifically for pupils with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). A team of nine class teachers is supported by four special educational needs (SEN) teachers, two ASD teachers and eight school‑nursing assistants, ensuring personalised learning pathways and additional support where required. The school places a strong emphasis on modern learning resources and digital connectivity. It benefits from high‑speed broadband delivered under the Department of Education’s School Broadband Programme, part of the Irish National Recovery and Resilience Plan. A voluntary smartphone code encourages parents to delay the introduction of smartphones until the end of primary education, promoting face‑to‑face interaction and concentration. Safety is prioritised through clear car‑park procedures and speed limits, while an active parent committee invites families to engage in school life and decision‑making.
