About

Scoil Bhríde Buachaillí is an all‑boys primary school situated in the heart of Blanchardstown Village. It shares a modern campus with its sister school, Scoil Bhríde Cailíní, providing a vibrant co‑located environment while maintaining single‑sex education. The school places a strong emphasis on STEM learning, regularly organising fund‑raising events such as the Christmas Raffle to enhance resources and running initiatives like Maths Week competitions that bring mathematics into real‑world contexts. The campus benefits from purpose‑built facilities completed in 2014, including contemporary classrooms, specialist STEM areas and dedicated spaces for the Sonas autism classes (Sonas 1, 2 and 3). These special classes demonstrate the school’s commitment to inclusive education, offering tailored support for pupils with additional needs. A broad curriculum, active extracurricular programme and a focus on community involvement aim to nurture confident, well‑rounded learners prepared for the challenges of the future.

History

The first pupil, Michael Molloy, was registered in 1873 when classes were held in the convent beside the church (now the Thai Garden restaurant). A two‑teacher co‑educational school was erected in 1891 on the present community centre site. In 1956 separate four‑teacher boys’ and girls’ schools were built; the boys moved to an extension linked to the girls’ school in 1985. Major redevelopment began in August 2012, with new buildings for both schools completed in phases by January 2014 and officially opened in May 2014.
