About
Scoil Eimhin Naofa is a co‑educational primary school situated in the heart of Monasterevin, County Kildare, serving a vibrant community of approximately 385 pupils. The school operates under a strong Catholic ethos rooted in the tradition of the Mercy Sisters, while welcoming children from a variety of religious and cultural backgrounds. Education is delivered in a child‑centred environment that nurtures spiritual, intellectual, emotional, creative and physical development, guided by the example of Jesus Christ and a commitment to respect, self‑esteem and cooperation. The school is undergoing a major transformation with a new 24‑classroom campus that includes dedicated Special Autism Classes. Phase 1 of the development opened in February 2024, providing modern classrooms, specialist support spaces and upgraded office facilities, while Phase 2 is slated for completion by early 2026. This expansion will accommodate the forthcoming amalgamation with the neighbouring St Peter’s National School, creating a single, larger primary school for the town. The school’s vision emphasises high professional standards, partnership with parents and the wider community, and special care for the less privileged and those at risk.
History
Scoil Eimhin Naofa has recently revitalised its website and embarked on a multi‑million‑euro construction project to replace its former premises. Phase 1 of the new school opened in February 2024, after which the old building was demolished and Phase 2 commenced. The school plans to complete the new facilities by the end of 2025 or early 2026, at which point it will amalgamate with the nearby St Peter’s National School, uniting two long‑standing local traditions into a single primary education entity.
