About
Scoil Mhuire agus Chormaic is a mixed, Catholic primary school situated in Kilcormac, County Offaly, catering for children aged four to twelve from Junior Infants through to Sixth Class. Operating under the patronage of the Bishop of Meath, the school delivers the Irish primary curriculum with a strong emphasis on faith‑based values, community involvement and holistic development. A dedicated team of five mainstream teachers, two ASD class teachers and additional support staff ensures that both mainstream and special‑needs learners receive personalised attention, fostering an inclusive learning environment. The school actively participates in national initiatives such as Green Schools, Active Schools and a range of partnerships that promote environmental awareness, physical activity and broader community engagement. Facilities are designed to support a varied programme of academic, artistic and sporting activities, and the school maintains a vibrant online presence, including regular updates on its Facebook page and a published school ethos that underpins its educational philosophy.
History
Scoil Mhuire agus Chormaic was formed in September 2011 through the amalgamation of Scoil Mhuire and St Cormac’s National School, creating a single primary institution serving the Kilcormac community.
