About

Scoil Mhuire agus Naomh Treasa is a co‑educational primary school situated in Currow, Killarney, County Kerry, catering for approximately 120 pupils from Junior Infants through to 6th class. The school follows the Irish national curriculum while placing a strong emphasis on inclusive learning, digital literacy and the development of practical skills. A dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) provision supports learners with additional needs, and a resource teacher and learning support staff enhance personalised instruction across all year groups. The school benefits from recent EU National Recovery and Resilience Plan funding, which has equipped classrooms with ten Apple iPads, a charging trolley, a smart interactive board and subscriptions to the Nessy reading, spelling and typing programmes, as well as Wriggle Digital support for Microsoft Teams and Office 365. These resources are used to enrich numeracy, problem‑solving and creative projects such as coding with Scratch and animation with ICanAnimate. Facilities include a football pitch, basketball courts, ample car parking and easy community access. The daily timetable starts at 8.30 am with a 9.00 am official start, incorporates a mid‑morning break and a structured lunch period, and offers an after‑school programme for extended care and extracurricular activities.
