About

Scoil Mhuire Mount Sackville is a non‑fee‑paying Catholic primary school situated on the historic Mount Sackville campus in Dublin. The school provides a caring, inclusive environment where children are respected, feel safe and are encouraged to develop empathy, creativity and kindness. Learning is framed within a Christian ethos that nurtures the whole child – academically, spiritually, socially and emotionally – and promotes a collaborative partnership with parents and the wider community. The curriculum is delivered through a range of initiatives, including Universal Design for Learning, Green Schools projects and a vibrant after‑school programme offering clubs and activities. The historic grounds host modern facilities such as on‑site childcare provision and dedicated spaces for creative and physical development, ensuring that each child can flourish in a supportive and stimulating setting.

History

Scoil Mhuire National School forms part of the Mount Sackville educational tradition established by the Sisters of St Joseph of Cluny. The Sisters arrived in Dublin in 1860, leading to the foundation of Mount Sackville Secondary School in 1864. Inspired by the vision of Blessed Anne Marie Javouhey, the school has long championed holistic education rooted in Christian values. Today the primary school continues this legacy, recently expanding enrolment to include boys while maintaining its historic commitment to care, compassion and respect.
