About
Scoil Náisiunta Ailbhe is a rural primary school serving approximately 190 pupils in the Killinure area, situated about a mile from the village of Boher. The school operates a structured day from 9:00 am to 2:40 pm and provides a balanced curriculum that encourages learning through exploration, music, and creativity. Classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards, visualisers and a class set of iPads, supporting coding lessons and stop‑motion video projects, while specialist resources support a strong music programme with weekly choir, traditional music groups and tin‑whistle instruction. The campus has developed steadily since its original two‑room building in 1966. Extensions in 2008 added two classrooms and a purpose room; further growth in 2011 introduced an additional classroom and staffroom, and two state‑of‑the‑art classrooms were added in 2016. Dedicated special classes for children with autism were first opened in 2017, with two more added subsequently. Outdoor facilities include a basketball court, a large all‑weather pitch, a smaller rear pitch and a playing area, supporting a wide range of sports such as hurling, football, basketball, spikeball and swimming.
