About

Scoil Naisiunta Lios Teilic is a co‑educational Catholic national school situated on Abbeydorney Road on the outskirts of Tralee, overlooking Tralee Bay. The school serves a single‑stream cohort of around 200‑210 pupils, providing a warm, welcoming atmosphere where children feel safe and valued. Emphasising the partnership between parents, guardians and teachers, the school cultivates strong community links and encourages families to be active participants in their child’s education. The school operates from a brand‑new building that houses eight spacious classrooms and a bright, multipurpose hall. The surrounding grounds feature biodiversity beds and wild‑flower areas, which are integrated into the curriculum to offer hands‑on environmental learning. A broad, balanced curriculum is delivered, including core subjects and the teaching of English, French and German, with additional support for special‑needs pupils. The ethos is centred on a caring, happy and secure environment that respects each child’s individuality, promotes Catholic values and prepares students to become responsible members of a modern, multicultural society.

History

The school provides education for children from six months to seven years, offering both half‑day and full‑day programmes. Classrooms are designed for small groups of up to ten pupils, and the curriculum includes instruction in English, French and German (the latter at an additional charge). These provisions reflect the school’s commitment to early childhood development and multilingual learning.
