About
Scoil Naomh Bríd is a Catholic primary school situated in the rural village of Talbotstown, Kiltegan, County Wicklow, at the foot of Keadeen Mountain. Under the patronage of the Diocese of Kildare and Leighlin, the school aims to provide a secure, happy learning environment where every pupil can reach their full potential. The ethos is firmly rooted in Gospel values, with a strong emphasis on respect, inclusivity and equality of access for children of all nationalities, religions, cultures and ethnicities. The school’s facilities have recently been extended and now comprise four modern classrooms, two specialist support rooms, a staff room, an office, two playgrounds and a large playing pitch. A broad range of extra‑curricular activities is offered, including tag‑rugby, soccer, GAA, basketball, gymnastics, hip‑hop dancing and swimming, as well as regular quiz clubs and competitions. The curriculum is delivered with a focus on high educational standards, personalised support and the development of each child’s talents, preparing them to become caring, well‑adapted adults.
History
The current school building was originally constructed in 1962. Since then the school has expanded its facilities and staff to meet the needs of the local community while maintaining its Catholic ethos and commitment to inclusive education.
