About
Castlebar Primary School (Scoil Naisiunta Oilean Eadaigh) is a co‑educational, Mercy De la Salle‑affiliated primary school that serves the Castlebar community on two dedicated campuses. The Junior Campus on The Lawn welcomes children from Junior Infants to First Class and provides specialised support through Language and Autism classes, ensuring inclusive provision for diverse learning needs. The Senior Campus on Chapel Street accommodates pupils from Second to Sixth Class, offering a continuum of curriculum delivery that builds on the foundations laid in the junior years. The school’s ethos centres on a nurturing and stimulating environment where every child is encouraged to reach their full potential. Embracing modern technology, the school benefits from high‑speed broadband supplied via the Department of Education’s School Broadband Programme, supporting digital learning and communication. A strong partnership with parents is promoted under the motto “Together We Achieve”, fostering collaborative involvement in students’ academic and personal development.
History
Castlebar Primary School was established in September 2022 following the merger of the historic St Angela’s Girls’ National School and St Patrick’s Boys’ National School, creating a unified primary education provision for the area.
