About

Scoil Bhríde, Eglantine is an all‑girls Catholic primary school situated in the heart of Douglas, Cork City, within the parish of Ballinlough. The school serves roughly 400 pupils aged four to thirteen and offers a balanced programme that nurtures academic achievement, personal growth and spiritual development. Its ethos is rooted in the Catholic tradition while remaining open to children of all faiths and backgrounds, promoting a climate of physical, emotional, social and intellectual safety for the whole school community. The curriculum is complemented by a wide range of extracurricular activities that enrich the learners’ experience. Pupils benefit from facilities such as a sensory garden, active‑school programmes, and dedicated spaces for music, art and sport. The school’s vibrant life includes choir and orchestra, Irish dancing, quizzes, swimming, tennis, GAA, and regular participation in cultural events such as Schoolovision and community festivals. A strong partnership with the Parents’ Association and an engaged Board of Management under the patronage of the Bishop of Cork & Ross further supports a nurturing, inclusive environment where children are encouraged to develop life‑skills, confidence and a love of learning.
