SCOIL PHADRAIG
School Details
About
Scoil Phádraig is a co‑educational Catholic primary school that aims to provide a well‑ordered, caring and safe environment for children from infant to sixth class. The curriculum is designed to meet the intellectual, spiritual, physical, moral and cultural needs of each pupil, drawing inspiration from the Catholic faith while giving due recognition to other religions and none. The school promotes gender equality among staff and learners and places a strong emphasis on the personal development of every child, encouraging respect for self, others and property. The school day begins at 9 am, finishing at 1.50 pm for infant classes and 2.50 pm for the older years. A structured homework journal, regular notices and a clearly posted timetable keep parents well informed, while a parents committee and home‑school liaison foster active parental involvement. Uniform standards, a nut‑free environment and a healthy eating policy (with lunches supplied by a local shop) support student wellbeing. Mobile phones are not permitted on the premises except in exceptional, authorised circumstances, and punctuality is stressed to maintain a calm, positive learning atmosphere.

The school recently celebrated its 175th anniversary, as noted on the History page.
