About

Scoil Phádraig, also known as Milltown National School, is a small, mixed‑gender primary school situated in the parish of Milltown, County Westmeath, on the Ballymahon Road, approximately 10 km from Mullingar. The school caters for children from Junior Infants through to 6th Class, with a current roll of about 90 pupils supported by a dedicated team of five teachers. Its educational ethos combines a strong foundation in the Irish primary curriculum with a vibrant programme of extracurricular activities, ranging from STEM initiatives such as Lego League and VEX Robotics to music, drama and sport, encouraging pupils to develop confidence, creativity and collaborative skills. The school benefits from a convenient location opposite St Matthew’s Church and is well‑connected by two daily bus routes, one linking directly with Mullingar town. Facilities include purpose‑built classrooms for each class level, a multipurpose hall used for performances and assemblies, and access to outdoor play areas that support physical education and community events. Through regular newsletters, newsletters and a lively online presence, Scoil Phádraig keeps parents and the wider community informed about student achievements and upcoming events, fostering a close‑knit, supportive school community.
