Scoil Rónáin is a Catholic, Christian primary school that creates a structured yet nurturing environment where the intellectual, spiritual, corporal, moral and cultural needs of each child are recognised and met. The school’s ethos stresses the development of a professional and personal ethos among staff, encouraging continual training and participation in service‑related courses. A strong partnership with parents is promoted through regular communication, meetings and opportunities for involvement, ensuring that families feel an integral part of the school community. The curriculum is complemented by a wide range of extra‑curricular activities. Pupils take part in school‑organised football and Gaelic football leagues, as well as the annual “Seachtar an Taobh” competition, and may join the club for Irish language sports and athletics. Enrichment programmes include a Club Mata and English club for senior classes, music and dance sessions, science and mathematics awards, and artistic projects such as Christmas card design and drama productions. These activities aim to foster confidence, curiosity and a love of learning beyond the classroom. Safety and wellbeing are central to daily practice. Clear rules govern arrival and dismissal times, movement on school grounds and road safety, with parents required to sign permission forms for any off‑site activities. The school’s policies prohibit discrimination on the basis of religion, colour, intelligence, gender, reason or background, and it strives to ensure every child receives fair and equitable treatment at all times.
