About

Scoil Sinéad is a patron‑body that creates inclusive, community‑based schools across Ireland, welcoming children of all backgrounds, abilities and faiths. Its educational philosophy goes beyond academic achievement, aiming to develop resilient, confident and compassionate individuals through a holistic approach that balances knowledge acquisition with social‑emotional growth, creativity and character formation. Central to this vision are the Six Pillars of Education, which guide teaching, learning and community building, fostering a sense of belonging, purpose and hope in every learner. The organisation operates a network of early‑years, primary and secondary schools, each situated in accessible, modern premises such as the Base Enterprise Centre in Mulhuddart, Dublin 15. Strong partnerships with the HOPE Autism Care Centre and other local agencies ensure that specialised supports are embedded within the curriculum, making inclusion a lived experience rather than a policy statement. Collaborative relationships with families, local partners and inclusion specialists further enrich the learning environment, preparing students to thrive in an ever‑changing world.

History

Scoil Sinéad was founded in May 2016 by a group of educators and parents seeking more inclusive, community‑focused schools in Ireland. The Patron Board began with five members and expanded to eleven by March 2017, securing trustee patron status for a new secondary school in Lucan later that year. In May 2017 the body gained full patronage of Scoil Sinéad Pelletstown National School, its first primary school. Over the following years the organisation broadened its governance framework, introduced special classes for children with autism, launched the Six Pillars of Education in 2022, and extended its outreach internationally through the “Back to Class Jamaica” initiative (2024‑2025).
