About

Scoil Mhuire is a Catholic primary school in Milford, County Cork, operating under the patronage of the Bishop of Cloyne. The school is dedicated to providing every child with the opportunity to reach their full potential within a nurturing environment characterised by respect for one another, the wider community and the natural world. Its curriculum follows the revised 1999 Primary Schools’ Curriculum, aiming for the holistic development of pupils – cognitively, intellectually, culturally, morally and spiritually – while fostering a living relationship with God and a Christ‑centred philosophy of life. The school embraces a vibrant, inclusive ethos, welcoming diversity of race, culture, religion, gender and ability, and actively supports pupils with special educational needs. It promotes lifelong learning and strong parental involvement, viewing parents as the primary educators of their children. As an integral part of the Milford village, Scoil Mhuire encourages community engagement through a range of initiatives, including the Junior Entrepreneur Programme, ESB Science Blast, and the Active and Amber Flag wellbeing schemes. A rich co‑curricular programme complements academic learning, offering GAA sports (football, hurling, camogie), rugby coaching, an Active Week, Literacy Lift‑Off sessions, music and dance, French lessons, and a gardening poly‑tunnel. These activities develop creativity, teamwork, physical fitness and cultural appreciation, ensuring a well‑rounded education for all pupils.
