About
Kildorrery National School is a co‑educational primary school situated in the rural community of Kildorrery, County Cork. It provides education for children from Junior Infants through to Sixth Class, delivering the Irish National Curriculum with a strong emphasis on holistic development. The school integrates literacy, numeracy and creative subjects while promoting play‑based learning through the Aistear framework. A vibrant active‑school programme, participation in Green Schools initiatives and a range of extracurricular activities—including music, drama, sport and community projects—support the development of confidence, teamwork and environmental awareness. The school benefits from a range of modern facilities, including a newly constructed classroom, an outdoor classroom, and a dedicated special class for children with autism that opened in September 2025. Strong links with local organisations such as the fire brigade, credit unions, sports clubs and therapy centres enrich the curriculum and provide authentic learning experiences. A proactive Parents Association and regular community events, such as the Twixmas Walk, Colour Run and school musical, foster a supportive and inclusive school community.
