About
St Anne’s Primary School is a vertical primary institution with a Catholic ethos, serving the local community of Fettercairn and families from further afield. The school embraces a multicultural environment, welcoming pupils of all nationalities and religious backgrounds while placing a strong emphasis on meeting the needs of children with special educational requirements. With 32 teachers and 12 special needs assistants, the school operates 17 mainstream classes and an Autism Spectrum Disorder unit – “The Haven” – which opened in September 2021. A holistic approach underpins the curriculum, aiming to nurture each child’s individual talents and promote academic excellence alongside personal development. The school offers a broad range of extracurricular activities, including basketball, soccer, GAA, swimming and chess, and provides dedicated project workers to support self‑esteem, independence, attendance and punctuality. Participation in the DES/NCSE In‑School Therapy Project brings a speech‑language pathology therapist and an occupational therapist into the school weekly, complemented by an on‑site SPLT and play‑therapist who work with pupils identified as needing additional support. All pupils benefit from free, award‑winning school lunches supplied by Glanmore. Strong partnership with parents is fostered through an open‑door policy and the Aladdin Connect app, which enables two‑way communication and real‑time updates on school activities. These combined initiatives create a safe, friendly and welcoming environment where pupils are encouraged to value themselves, their community and achieve their full academic potential.
