About

St Brigid’s Convent National School is a Catholic primary school situated on St Brigids Road in Killester, Dublin 5. Founded in 1928 by the Holy Faith Sisters, the school provides education for junior infants through sixth class, welcoming children of all faiths and backgrounds. Its ethos is rooted in the Catholic tradition, promoting a living relationship with God while respecting the diversity of values, beliefs and traditions of the wider community. The curriculum is delivered within a holistic framework that nurtures intellectual, physical, emotional, cultural, moral and spiritual development, guided by the school’s vision that “learning takes place through love, laughter and creativity”. The school places a strong emphasis on inclusive practice and equality of access. It offers a range of extracurricular programmes, including a well‑established choir, architecture workshops, coding and computer‑science sessions funded by a Next Generation EU grant, and active‑school initiatives such as the Amber Flag wellbeing programme. Facilities support these activities, with dedicated spaces for music, technology and outdoor learning, and the school is equipped to accommodate children with special educational needs, including a dedicated autism class (subject to availability). Partnerships with parents and the local community are central to school life, ensuring a supportive environment for every child.
